Quala-Tea: Week 4: Taste-tests

Before we could could focus on exploring collaboration opportunities for Nela's Chai; we needed to narrow down our ideas.
Therefore, after the experiments we gave our thoughts on the taste of all the products as well as ranking them:

Thoughts:

Cookies:
- The peanut butter cookies were very average. Felt the peanut taste was much stronger than the Chai. It also kinda lost its flavout when baked so probably wouldn’t make again. The mix however, tasted a lot like speculoos spread (had the same consistency).
- Choc chip cookies were much nicer, the Chai flavor was good but should add more next time. This could be a good idea for Nela to invent her own recipe rather than collaborate.
Iced Chai:
-       Enjoyed this combination. The milk balanced that Chai flavor really well and it would be a good option for Nela to either create her own recipe or collaborate with a current brand and sell it pre-made in store. Having it ready for the consumer to drink would make it an easy option for them to buy and consume instantly, then they could invest in the syrup or tea leaves to then use at home.  It would be a perfect time for her to release this option as New Zealand does not have anything like this on the current market but it is becoming a thing in America so she should get in early.
Ice-cream:

- Very nice mix of vanilla and chai (sweet and spicy balance out well)

Chocolate:
-       The Chai chocolate was amazing! Would definitely buy this if it was sold instore. We had sampled it with dark chocolate and the flavors balanced really well. It would be a good idea to contact the Wellington Chocolate Factory for a potential collaboration, being a Wellington company I think it would do well in expanding the brand as it would reach much more consumers.
We will have to do more research into this idea.
Tea:
-       Trying the tea out of a standard tea pot was okay. It felt very average, didn’t love it or dislike it but wouldn’t think about buying it again.
-       Following the recipe on the back of her tea leaves was more enjoyable that just the standard tea pot. This was because it had more milk involved as well as sugar which helped to balance and mellow the flavors.

Winter Warmer Baileys: (tried by Jake):
-       Tasted like spiced liquor which was an interesting concept but not with the right chai.
-       It’s almost like an Irish liquor and the more you drink it the better it tastes.

-       The consistencies didn’t mix, it’s like putting oil in water.
